Context & Rationale
Founded on August 28, 2018 in Lokossa by passionate young university scholars and community builders, Youth For Challenge laid the groundwork of a grassroots movement dedicated to educational excellence, civic leadership, and community solidarity.

Leadership Awakening & Academic Contests: Génies en Herbe & Spelling Bee
To inspire curiosity and public speaking, YFC hosted the GEH Challenge Benin-Africa 2019 finals at CAEB Lokossa, where CEG 1 Lokossa clinched victory against Lokossa Girls High School, alongside the regional Spelling Bee contest.
Early Digital Inclusion: Scratch Coding & Blogging
From its very start, YFC championed digital skills. Over 70 children aged 7 to 17 discovered algorithmic reasoning and video game design through Scratch, accompanied by social media and blogging masterclasses with agency KLCNET IT.
Community Solidarity & Lokossa CleanUp Day
Community commitment materialized through donation of games and school supplies to children at La Providence orphanage in Lokossa, while the Lokossa CleanUp Day rallied dozens of volunteers to clean public spaces and advocate plastic waste management.
- 12 foundational initiatives executed: Personal development and financial literacy workshops, native language roundtables, donations to La Providence orphanage, and Summer Camp 2019.
- Djimon Hounsou English Club (DHEC): Launch of the English speaking club in Lokossa to foster oral fluency and global opportunities for students.
- Early Coding Program: Over 70 children and teenagers in Lokossa trained in animation and logic games creation using Scratch visual software.
- Academic Excellence & Ecology: Hosting the GEH Challenge Benin-Africa 2019 (won by CEG 1 Lokossa), Spelling Bee, and the community Lokossa CleanUp Day.
